The Sir Nobles and Sultanas of Region VI cordially invite you to a Pure Michigan and Motown. We have a great program planned for Alhambra’s 54th biennial convention at the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn, Michigan. The Convention is July 9th – July 13th. The Michigan Convention committee is looking forward to seeing you in Dearborn! In addition to the information in the Alhambran, all the information about the Convention is available here!
Hotel Registration – All the information needed to the the hotel discount is available at alhambraconvention.com/hotel-registration. There is a link to the Hyatt’s website to register online or the code to use if you are going to register by phone. Please register ASAP!
Transportation from airport – Volunteers from the Michigan Caravans will pick you up from the airport, but we need to know when you’re coming! The form is available for download or you can use the online form at alhambraconvention.com/transportation. Convention Agenda – The unofficial agenda for the Convention is at alhambraconvention.com/agenda. It will be updated as items are finalized.
Sponsorships – we are looking for sponsors for the Convention. We have three levels of sponsorship: Platinum $1000 (or more); Gold $500; and Silver $250. Don’t forget there are also ads in the souvenir book which forms that have been sent by the International. Hospitality – The hospitality committee is looking for the Caravans to support the hospitality room at the Convention. Any donation that your Caravan could make to the hospitality room would be appreciated. Saturday, July 9th: Greektown Casino Trip ($30 per person, includes $20 bonus play card) – Greektown Casino’s 75,000 square feet of gaming space offers the newest, most exciting slots, video poker machines, table games and the region’s largest poker room. The friendliest dealers and staff in the business complement all your gaming fun. After getting your full of gambling, head out to the neighborhood restaurants, featuring authentic Greek cuisine-Opa! Tour Greektown shops and Old St. Mary’s where we have an Alhambra plaque. 3 pm – 9 pm.
Monday, July 11th: Venerable Solanus Casey Cultural Center Tour ($30 per person) – Lunch, Detroit mini tour, with SC Msgr. Bass serving as your tour guide and host. Find inspiration, peace, healing and hope in the footsteps of one of the most important role models of our lifetime, Venerable Fr. Solanus Casey, through imagination, interaction and multi-dimensional resources. 12:30 pm – 4 pm.
Tuesday, July 12th: Diamond Jim’s Detroit River Cruise with dinner ($50 per person, cash bar) – dinner & dancing cruise on the Detroit River! 6 pm -10 pm.
